Certainly not you!
Postpartum depression (PPD) happens due to the enormous physical and hormonal changes going on in your body.
The primary cause of PPD is…
- the shifting of reproductive hormones following your baby’s delivery.
Other secondary causes may include…
- sleep deprivation,
- inadequate nutrition,
- isolation,
- poor partner support,
- health issues of mom or baby,
- a high needs baby, and/or
- other major stressors that may cause or exacerbate PPD.

A Final Thought – From the Pillow
Postpartum depression (PPD) can happen to the smartest, strongest, and most loving of moms – YOU!
So don’t think PPD happened because of something you did or didn’t do. Okay?
What’s your view from the bed today, bleak or bright?
I had(have) PPD and it is a topic that is definitely not talked about enough. But it certainly hit me hard. Good post!
